NCRTC has completed the shifting and modification work of UPPTCL Electrical High Tension Line, i.e. 400KV, single circuit, near Ordnance Factory, Muradnagar (Ghaziabad). The shifting and modification work of this EHT line was carried out using special types of monopoles. These monopoles designed by NCRTC are rare and have been certified by Central Power Research Institute, Bengaluru. Given the space constraint due to densely populated area and very old design of the existing UPPTCL EHT line, NCRTC designed these monopoles which can be installed in less space and still gives the desired height for the wires. With this, a total of 24 EHT lines infringing the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS Corridor has been shifted. The shifting and modification work was carried by following the Standard Operating Procedure in view of the COVID-19 outbreak which includes the thermal screening of officials and labourers, the use of sanitizers and maintaining social distance.
