Shri Vinay Kumar Singh, MD/NCRTC, inspected on-going construction works in Meerut section of the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS corridor, from Modipuram to Meerut South station, along with other senior officers of NCRTC.
During the site walkthrough, Mr Singh interacted with contractors/ engineers and had discussions in understanding various quality & safety protocols being undertaken along with discussing the bottlenecks being faced by the team. He motivated the team to maintain the pace of construction to meet the ambitious timelines.
Before moving towards Begumpul, Mr Singh reviewed the progress of work at the upcoming ramp at Tank Chauraha. He visited the sites of 3 underground stations, namely Begumpul, Bhaisali and Meerut Central. He interacted with a team of engineers to understand the challenges and complexities and gave specific importance to the traffic circulation scheme prepared by the field teams to ensure that there is minimum disturbance to the road passengers during construction.
Later, while inspecting the casting yard at Shatabdi Nagar, he discussed the processes, progress in casting of stations precast elements, stacking arrangements etc. He also took note of work progress at the sites of Meerut North, Meerut South stations and special spans at Partapur Railway crossing.
He motivated the contractors, site officers that they are part of a team which is implementing a first of its kind system in India, in which both the local transit services and the semi high-speed regional services would be available to the Meerut citizens on the same infrastructure. He said that during construction within the city, the field team should put safety as a top priority and before placing barricades for construction, take adequate measures to ensure minimum inconvenience to the local citizens.
