Secretary Housing & Urban Affairs and Chairman NCRTC Shri Manoj Joshi along with Shri Vinay Kumar Singh, Managing Director, NCRTC, inspected the ongoing construction work of the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS corridor.
During the visit, Shri Joshi took note of Multi-Modal-Integration scheme connecting RRTS stations with other modes of transport for seamless commuter movement, extensive use of Precast technique, working of Tunnel Boring Machines (सुदर्शन) and Launching Gantry (तारिणी), Receiving Sub Station (RSS) built for supplying power, and track laying works among other activities.
Shri Joshi interacted with the on-ground engineers, understood their challenges, and acknowledged the pace of construction progress particularly of the priority section. He appreciated the various proactive steps taken by NCRTC for traffic management, minimizing inconvenience to the public during construction, safety and dust-control measures etc.
The visit concluded at the RRTS Duhai Depot, wherein Secretary reviewed the ongoing civil and construction works progress. MD, NCRTC, also showcased the modern and commuter-centric interiors of India’s first Regional Rail to the Secretary. Shri Joshi appreciated NCRTC’s approach of giving due attention to commuters’ requirements during regional commute.
