Shri Vinay Kumar Singh, MD, NCRTC, shared his views on PPP in infrastructure, at the Economic Times Infra Focus Summit held in New Delhi. The summit was graced by Shri Nitin Gadkari, Hon’ble Minister for Road Transport and Highways, as the Chief Guest.
During the panel discussion, Shri Singh said that in today’s scenario PPPs are in different stages of evolution in various sectors and require critical risk-balanced approach to be successful. In this context, he also shared how NCRTC has brought in the entrepreneurial spirit and efficiency of the private sector through its recently awarded long-term comprehensive O&M contract for the Delhi-Meerut RRTS. He also spoke on the innovative procurement model adopted by NCRTC for its major asset, rolling stock which has been procured on a lifecycle cost principle bundling the supply contract with 15-year maintenance responsibility with the OEM.
The Summit witnessed participation in huge numbers from India’s infrastructure fraternity. Several engaging sessions, involving top industry leaders, were organized around the theme of ‘Re-Strategize Indian infrastructure growth and preparedness for Global Play’.
