Platform Screen Doors – NCRTC

Platform Screen Doors (PSDs) are being used to isolate the platforms from the track. PSDs open only when the train stops at the correct position. The use of PSDs helps to prevent accidents, objects falling on track, and trespassing. PSDs are synchronously controlled throughout the length of the platform. PSDs which are on the platform operate in synchronization with the Train doors. PSDs are installed at every RRTS station help in saving significant energy consumption and ensure enhanced safety of commuters.
NCRTC has taken the initiative of bringing the technology of manufacturing PSDs in India, towards the aim of ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ by adopting ‘Make in India’ in its true spirit. There exists huge demand for affordable locally produced PSDs in upcoming & existing Metro/RRTS and High-Speed Rail systems in India.
