Platform Screen Doors (PSDs) will be used to isolate the platforms from the track. PSDs will open only when the train stops at the correct position. The use of PSDs will help to prevent accidents, objects falling on track, and trespassing. PSDs will be synchronously controlled throughout the length of the platform. PSDs which are on the platform will operate in synchronization with the Train doors. PSDs will be installed at every RRTS station that will help in saving significant energy consumption and ensure enhanced safety of passengers.
NCRTC has taken the initiative of bringing the technology of manufacturing PSDs in India, towards the aim of ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ by adopting ‘Make in India’ in its true spirit. There exists huge demand for affordable locally produced PSDs in upcoming & existing Metro/RRTS and High-Speed Rail systems in India.
